Welcome

The Massachusetts Community Colleges & Workforce Development Transformation Agenda (MCCWDTA) brings Massachusetts' fifteen community colleges, adult basic education and workforce development systems, and industry stakeholders together to transform the delivery of education and training programs. A key component is the transformation of developmental and adult basic education with contextualized curriculum. Education Development Center (EDC) is working with developmental education and adult basic education faculty, instructors, program leaders and industry advisors from across Massachusetts through a grant from the MCCWDTA to provide and share contextualized curriculum modules that can be flexibly integrated into a range of developmental, adult basic education and industry-specific programs.

This website includes curriculum modules targeting core topics in mathematics and literacy contextualized to three key MCCWDTA industries: healthcare, advanced manufacturing and information technology. It also provides professional development resources and an online community to support developmental and adult basic education instructors and program leaders as they integrate contextualized curriculum into their courses and programs.
